It was a complete night for the Boston Celtics Boston, they received the trophy which they gained in the previous season of the NBA and soon they opened the new campaign with a victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, 90 to 85.
The Cavs is outlined like one of the main stumbling blocks that will have the Celtics in their eagerness to revalidate the title of the East Conference and to gain by second consecutive year the right to play the NBA finals.
So to give the first blow last night it was important for the players of Doc Rivers, they took advantage of the 27 points scored by Paul Pierce, who was the best player of the night.
In the other side the best numbers was headed – it could not be of another way by LeBron James, who closed his first action of season 2008-2009 with 22 points.
Peculiarly the five points of difference between these players were the same that marked the victory of the hosts.

La junta de directores de la NBA aprobó extender el uso de repeticiones instantáneas de videos televisivos para ayudar a los árbitros en su trabajo, entre otras medidas encaminadas a mejorar el desarrollo de los partidos.
En su reunión anual realizada en Nueva York, la jefatura máxima de dueños de franquicias de la NBA seleccionó al propietario de los Minnesota Timberwolves, Glen Tylor, como su nuevo presidente.
Una de las más importante decisiones de la reunión fue que los árbitros puedan acudir a las repeticiones de video para ver si un tiro fue de dos o tres puntos, y para decidir en caso apretados si un jugador recibe una falta detrás del arco y tiene garantizados los tres tiros libres de oficio.
Los dueños también aprobaron el uso de la repetición por mal funcionamiento del reloj en los segundos finales de un cuarto o un tiempo extra.
Esta medida es en respuesta a las críticas por los problemas de cronómetro que se presentaron durante los juegos de playoff entre Orlando Magic y Detroit Pistons la pasada campaña.
De su lado, Taylor fue electo por unanimidad nuevo presidente de la Junta de Gobierno, en reemplazo del propietario del Miami Heat, Micky Arison, quien estuvo en el cargo por tres años.
Ex senador por Minnesota y dueño de los Timberwolves desde 1995, Taylor había ocupado varios cargos en la junta directiva de propietarios de los 30 equipos de la NBA.
El papel de ese órgano es ayudar a la NBA a tomar grandes decisiones como cambios de reglas, relocalización de franquicias y otros asuntos que impactan el desarrollo y buen funcionamiento de la Liga.
