Game 5 Tigers vs Cardinals tonight!!!!

Like I yesterday said Detroit needed to start producing some action for there team in order to keep hopes alive, well the Tigers were undone by their porous defense and a soggy playing surface. As a result, they’re down 3-1 and will have to face Game 5 against Jeff Weaver if the weather conditions allow tonights game. Weaver is an interesting option for St Louis tonight he’s a veteran right hander who has been strong in this years playoffs and as long as the Tigers insist on making things so easy for the opposing starter and allowing one of their best hitters to simmer on the bench, Marcus Thames, Weaver should give the Cardinals more than a fighting chance in the possible clincher tonight.

If tonights game were to be cancelled, well there will be more pitching options for St Louis and that could be a Huge problem for Detroit, they would have to faceoff either Carpenter, Anthony Reyes or they could stick Jeff Weaver, so tonight will just have to wait and see what the all mighty has encountered for Us.

Will it be the Cardinals clinching the Title or will Detroit give there last fight? You take your pick, SkytowerCasino and Sportsbook has all the Live Action for the World Series, Props for the game and great Promotions are all available be sure to check them out.?

NBA right around the Corner!!!!!!!

One of the best basketball around the world is about to begin next week and the teams are getting ready for tipoff. Here is a sneak peak at some of the teams to watch for this upcoming season.

Western Conference

Phoenix Suns

With the return of Amare Stoudemire, Phoenix coach Mike D’Antoni will have to work hard to ensure that his stable of scorers can all find enough minutes and shots to remain happy. Either way, expect the Suns to start like the Pistons did last year, which brings another challenge to D’Antoni: how to keep his team playing with an “edge” all season and into the postseason, which the Pistons could not manage.

Los Angeles Lakers

Yes not Kobe, no player can help the Lakers move forward more than Kwame Brown. Jackson’s style and system take some getting used to, but if he can reach the goldmine of talent hidden within Brown and get him to be a beast in the paint, the Lakers go from pretender to contender.

San Antonio Spurs

Gregg Popovich will have to challenge the team to keep playing the Spurs way and that should be more than enough to guide the team back to the Finals. The team last year set the franchise record for wins and lost in Game 7 in OT, and can be even better this year.

Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers might actually have too much talent. Newcomer Tim Thomas has never been a chemistry guy; Corey Maggette is back and will want his touches; youngster Shaun Livingston seems ready to assert himself significantly and Elton Brand is the team’s superstar. Coach Dunleavy will have to manage egos as well as shots for everyone.

Houston Rockets

Jeff Van Gundy will have to help his team deal with high expectations. Adding super-role-players Shane Battier and Bonzi Wells to superstars Yao and T-Mac has this team loaded for a deep playoff run, but Van Gundy still needs to come up with an offensive formula that keeps his superstars happy without relying on them too much.

Dallas Mavericks

The bench was of the main reasons Dallas was able to continually frustrate San Antonio and Phoenix in the playoffs they could match up in so many different ways. Dallas is covered against virtually anything. Most teams have all kinds of problems matching up  because of their bizarre personnel, but the Mavs didn’t have much trouble at all.

Stay tuned for more previews from some of the teams to watch this season, SkytowerCasino and Sportsbook is ready for the NBA season, check out the Props available for the 06/07 NBA season and huge promotions for the season.

Diego Corrales joins Golden Boy Promotions!!!

Former lightweight and junior lightweight champion, free-agent Diego “Chico” Corrales signed a promotional contract with Golden Boy Promotions. Despite lossing his lightweight title Oct 7 with Joel Casamayor when he failed to make weight causing him to lose the title following day, although he has lost two fights in a row Corrales is still one of the most exciting fighters to watch and that’s what made the difference, and of course of the lucrative offer deal.

The addition of Corrales adds to Golden Boy’s already star-studded roster, which includes company chief De La Hoya and partners Bernard Hopkins, Shane Mosley and Marco Antonio Barrera. Chico Corrales is the company’s third high-profile signing in the past couple of months, having also signed junior lightweight star Manny Pacquiao and interim featherweight titlist Juan Manuel Marquez.

Corrales(40-4, 33 KOs) may debut for Golden Boy Promotions at junior welterweight or welterweight.

World Series Game 4 Tonight!!!!

Hopefully the rain won’t stop this series from moving forward and coming close to know which team will be the next Champion. Key game tonight for both teams St Louis leads 2-1 to Detroit and if the Cardinals were to win they will take a huge step towards the crown. As for Detroit they need to avoid going behind 2 games from St Louis because this could mean the beginning of the end for Motown city fans. In this series Detroit has not been playing as good as they look offensively speaking, some key players like Curtis Granderson, Placido Polanco and Ivan Rodriguez have been useless at the plate. This trio has combined to go 0-for-34 against St. Louis, and that’s a big part of the reason the Tigers are having so much trouble scoring runs. We have to give credit to St Louis pitching staff Anthony Reyes, Jeff Weaver and Chris Carpenter who have done a tremendous job against the third best offensive team in the American League and tonight will have to be no exception. Tigers needs these 3 players to step tonight to keep the fight in this Series and the Cards will need the best from Jeff Suppan to avoid the Tigers from creating some momentum in this key game tonight. It’s all about getting runs from the Tigers and great pitching from the Cardinals. There is still time to change things around and make the series more interesting.

SkytowerCasino and Sportsbook has all the World Series Live Action tonight, check out the great Props for the game and huge Promotional packages.

Madonna’s Adoption jeopardized by father’s confusion

The father of the 1-year-old boy who Madonna plans to adopt is saying he didn’t realize the pop singer was taking the toddler “for good,” media has reported.

“Our understanding was that they would educate and take care of our son just as they were doing at the orphanage,” Yohane Banda, 32, told the press in a telephone interview on Sunday. “I am just realizing now the meaning of adoption.”

The statement is a shift from earlier remarks Banda made when he struck out at human rights groups that have tried to stop Madonna from adopting his son, David.

“As David’s father I have no problem (with the adoption), so what is their concern?” he told PEOPLE magazine last week. “Are they jealous or what? What I want is good life, a good education for my child.”

On Sunday however, Banda said he was confused about the meaning of the adoption papers he signed earlier this month in court, which allowed a Malawian judge to grant the singer and her husband, Guy Ritchie, a temporary order to take David, who was flown to England where the couple and their two children live.

“If we were told that she wants to take the baby as her own we could not have consented, because I see no reason why I should give away my son,” said Banda, who put David into the orphanage when he was an infant. David’s mother died a week after his birth.

Jessica Simpson Pinpoints When Marriage Ended

Jessica Simpson says she realized that her marriage to Nick Lachey was over when he opted out of accompanying her to Africa on a charity trip in October 2005.

The trip took place at the time of their three-year wedding anniversary, she told Jane magazine for its November issue, while he decided to stay home.

Simpson was part of a travel contingent representing Operation Smile, a not-for-profit, volunteer medical services organization that provides reconstructive facial surgery to indigent children in remote areas.

Although Simpson and Lachey had both been presented with the organization’s Universal Smile Award at a Los Angeles Gala, Simpson ended up traveling to Nakuru, Kenya, with hairdresser Ken Paves, friend Cacee Cobb and her manger-father, Joe Simpson.

Once in Africa, according to the official Operation Smile Web site, Simpson aided the volunteer team with the medical evaluations of more than 280 patients and gave out gifts and spread cheer to the kids as they awaited their medical procedures.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Will Wed in Italy

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes will get married in Italy on Nov. 18, Cruise’s rep confirms to media.

Getting married in Italy is extra special for Cruise, 44, and Holmes, 27. Their first public outing as a couple, in spring 2005, was in Italy, where Cruise was in Rome for the April 29 David di Donatello awards.
Nearly a year later, the pair welcomed their first child together, daughter Suri, on April 18.

The actor told Good Housekeeping Magazine in June that he and Holmes had waited to wed until after Suri was born because they wanted their daughter to be at the ceremony.

However he says they feel like they are already married. “I know I’m with the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with. So the wedding – that’s just the party”, Cruise added.

Their attire for the wedding will be designed by their personal friend Armani.

F1 Season is Over, Alonso wins Title!!!

Fernando Alonso won his second straight Formula One championship by finishing runner-up to Felipe Massa in the Brazilian Grand Prix, a race that marked the end of Michael Schumacher’s mighty career. Schumacher, a seven-time Formula One champion, needed to win his final race before retirement to keep alive his remote chance of another title. But the German punctured a tire less than 10 laps into the race, dropped out of contention early and finished fourth. Massa, Schumacher’s Ferrari teammate, won the race from the pole and Honda’s Jenson Button finished third. A well deserved consecutive title for Alonso who had many people against him in the end he beat the odds and we’ll have to wait for the 2007 season for a 3-peat from the spaniard.Raikkonen will replace Schumacher at Ferrari next year, starting with the 2007 opener at the Australian Grand Prix on March 18.

Anti-Adoption Hearing for Maddona on Hold

Maddona is having a little hard time with the adoption of 13-month-old boy fom Malawi.

Critics of Madonna’s adoption were in court in Malawi on Friday to attempt to overturn her custody of this child. But the case was put on hold for a week to give government officials additional time to prepare.

Hearing was rescheduled for Friday so the nation’s attorney general, Jane Ansah, could confer with Malawi’s Ministry of Gender, Child Welfare and Community Services, the government body that oversees adoption proceedings.

Madonna’s camp, meanwhile, claims to be all set for the courtroom showdown and is standing by the party line that the singer and husband Guy Ritchie were held to the same standards as any prospective parents.

“We are ready for the case, but the attorney general wants to consult with the Ministry of Gender on the whole adoption process,” the couple’s local lawyer, Alan Chinula, told the Associated Press. “Our position is all legal aspects were followed.”

The Human Rights Consultative Committee, or HRCC, a coalition of 67 Malawi-based human rights organizations that have collectively filed the suit, stresses that it’s not the pop star’s decision to adopt that the group takes issue with, but the apparent rule-bending by local officials allegedly giving the Ritchies preferential treatment.

The HRCC maintains that acording to Malawi law, in addition to the residency requirement, prospective parents must be monitored  by social workers before they can be granted full adoption rights of a child. As it stands, the Ritchies were in and out of the country with the boy, David Banda, in just eight days.

Malawi officials, however, assert that residency is not specified in Malawi laws. The officials add that social workers abroad will continue to monitor the Ritchies for an 18-month period.

The government also suggests the challenge to Madonna’s adoption is moot because the couple has not officially been granted custody of David. Malawi courts have simply approved an interim order allowing the Ritchies to bring the boy back to their London home. The actual process won’t be complete until the end of the 18-month probation.

For her part, Madonna also denies that she skirted the law, issuing an open letter this week addressing the growing outcry over the adoption.

“This was not a decision or commitment that my family or I take lightly,” she wrote. “My husband and I began the adoption process many months prior to our trip to Malawi.

“We have gone about the adoption procedure according to the law like anyone else who adopts a child. Reports to the contrary are totally inaccurate.”

David’s birth father, Yohane Banda, also blasted the HRCC’s challenge. “Where were these people when David was struggling in the orphanage?

“These so-called human rights groups should leave my baby alone,” the elder Banda, whose wife died shortly after giving birth to David, told the Associated Press. “As father, I have okayed this, I have no problem. The village has no problem. Who are they to cause trouble? Please let them stop.”

Cardinals take Game 1 of World Series!!!!

I said about this series that both teams would be making history and I sure wasn’t wrong about that, St Louis looked sharp and Detroit looked rusty coming from a week rest. Rookie pitcher Antonio Reyes pitched brilliantly into the ninth inning, Albert Pujols made Detroit pay for pitching to him, and Scott Rolen homered to help St. Louis cruise past the Tigers 7-2 in the Series opener. Detroit was hosting there first World Series since 1984, fans were expecting to see there star pitcher rookie Justin Verlander give St Louis very few to cheer about but in the end it was the other way around.

Reyes outpitched Verlander and the Detroit Tigers, ending Detroit’s seven game postseason winning streak and shocking the home fans. Reyes retired 17 consecutive batters before Carlos Guillen’s seventh-inning single and was lifted after Craig Monroe homered on the first pitch of the ninth. Braden Looper would finish off the rest of the game and would give St Louis there first World Series win since 1987, putting an end to the 8-game losing streak from NL teams.

Detroit simply wasn’t playing like they did before they started this series and Puyol’s Cardinals made them pay. Game 2 is tomorrow night, with Kenny Rogers pitching for Detroit against ex-Tiger Jeff Weaver for St Louis. Don’t miss this history making series SkytowerCasino and Sportsbook has all the World Series Live Action.
