BASEBALL PREDICTIONS BY GEORGE!!!

Baseball is becoming really hot this fall, playoffs are here and the teams in it have their strategies ready for tomorrow’s showdown. The teams involved in this “dance” are:

NATIONAL LEAGUE

ST. LOUIS CARDINALS with a record of 83 – 78     (.516)
SAN DIEGO PADRES with a record of 88 – 74        (.543)
NEW YORK METS with a record of 97 – 65            (.599)
LOS ANGELES DODGERS with a record of 88 – 74 (.543)

AMERICAN LEAGUE

NEW YORK YANKEES with a record of 97 – 65    (.599)
MINNESOTA TWINS with a record of 96 – 66       (.593)
DETROIT TIGERS with a record if 95 – 67           (.586)
OAKLAND ATHLETICS with a record of 93 – 69    (.574)

In the first series for tomorrow we have Cardinals vs. Padres. This series is very interesting due the fact that San Diego is the favorite of the match up with an impressive record or 4 wins and 2 losses against St. Louis this year, 2 at home and 2 visiting, also the fact that San Diego won 8 out of their last 10 games of the season and St. Louis only won 3 out of their last 10, which takes me to my prediction for this series, SAN DIEGO PADRES sweep in 3 games.

Next series will be Oakland vs. Minnesota in a very tough series, both teams show great form on the last stretch with impressive records but the advantage in this one will go to our friends from the TWIN CITIES, with a little better record, and overall better team. The numbers show that the Twins have won 6 out of their last 10 and Oakland only won 4 out pf their last 10. The match ups between them go for the Twins as well with 6 victories out of 10 played games, 5 of them at home and only 1 visiting Oakland. The prediction is simple, Minnesota Twins sweep in 3 games.

The third series for tomorrow is the Wild Card Detroit Tigers vs. New York Yankees AGAIN!!. The records show New York as a strong favorite, although they struggle a little bit on teh last ten games winning only 5 out of 10, and Detroit won 4 out of their last 10. Between eachother the Yankees have dominated completely the Tigers with a record of 5 wins and 2 losses, no brains to make who’s winning this series, YANKEES in 4 games.

For wednesday we have the WILD CARD Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Mets. New York finished the regular season with 5 wins and 5 losses, and Los Angeles with 9 wins and 1 loss only. Now, the match ups between them have been really even, the Mets have won 4 out of 7 games which is no real advantage. The favorite on this match up will be New York Mets because of their record but my pick will be Los Angeles Dodgers in 5 games.

THE ODDS ON THESE SERIES ARE AVAILABLE AT SKYTOWER SPORTSBOOK&CASINO, please feel free to check the odds and the lines on this series and games and post your favorites for this first round of the playoffs.

TV Segregation Over at Survivor

Survivor has ended its segregation after two episodes just as it was planned to do from the beggining. The popular CBS reality show caused a stir when it started its sixth year with four tribes of different racial groups pitted against other. The tribes were split into Asian-Americans, blacks, whites, and Latinos. But in its third episode, aired Thursday night, the four groups were merged into two and integration was the order of the day. Survivor spokesman Colleen Sullivan said that it was what they planned to do all along. The show is planned months in advance and was shot in July and it was not switched because of any criticism. He claims everybody knew they would merge the groups in the third episode. Survivor, which helped usher in a new age of unscripted reality shows on American television, opened three weeks ago to its lowest ratings for a season opener, averaging about 18 million viewers. Recently, General Motors Corp said it was ending its six-year sponsorship of the show, insisting the move had nothing to do with complaints raised by minority groups and others about the show’s new race-based format.
