The Australian cyclist Cadel Evans, second place in the last two editions of the tour of France, confirmed his participation on the 2009 Giro d’Italia.
The next edition of the Giro will be the century of the competition, and it has a promising spectrum of stars with the confirmation of the North American Lance Armstrong, the Italians Ivan Basso, Damiano Cunego and Danilo Di Luca.
Evans, Silence Lotto team captain, joined to a large list of starts to run the Italy race starting next May 9th in Venetia.
The last time he ran the competition was in 2002 and won one of the stages. Evans will begin 32 years old and he is solid and equilibrium to give a good result in the Giro. He will play his hand in the last week with the effort and support of a great team and a second extraordinary cyclist such as Charly Vegelius.
