The current Tour le France Champion, Carlos Sastre, will be face to face against Lance Armstrong in the next Giro d’Italia.

Armstrong has not confirm yet if he is going to run le Tour 2009, what makes a warrantee that the current Tour champion and the seven times winner of the that competition will run face to face on Italy.

So far, Sastre was not sure to run the Giro. He said this competition will be his first important goal the coming season and he affirm he is going to be ready to run it. He said the Giro is not going to be just training for the tour; he is going to run for the win. Besides the presence of Armstrong is an extra quote of motivation.

To have Lance on the Giro, is really important, and is going to be his first tour compare to the four Sastre has behind, which give Sastre some advantage over the American.

Sastre will start his training in a couple of weeks for the next season with a brand new team, the Cervelo TestTeam, leaving behind the CSC team.

Armstrong, on the other side, returned from a 3 year retirement, and he will be running for the Astana team.
